The Jackass franchise closed a chapter in Hollywood with a farewell premiere that balanced formal elegance and the outrageous antics fans have come to expect over more than two decades.
Held Wednesday at the Paramount Theatre on the Paramount Pictures studio lot in Los Angeles, the premiere of Jackass: Best and Last welcomed cast members, filmmakers and celebrity guests for what was designed as a celebration of the series’ final theatrical installment.
The venue embraced a black-tie-optional dress code, but the crowd interpreted it in true Jackass fashion. Traditional tuxedos shared the room with sneakers and casual attire, creating a blend of classic Hollywood style and the franchise’s trademark irreverence. Elegant floral arrangements, candlelit décor and a grand piano performance contrasted with playful touches that reflected the series’ unconventional identity.
Cast Reflects on More Than Two Decades Together
Before the screening began, franchise stars and longtime collaborators took the stage to acknowledge the journey that began more than 25 years ago. Producer Spike Jonze, alongside Johnny Knoxville and director Jeff Tremaine, thanked those who helped shape the series, describing the premiere as a meaningful opportunity to share the film with fans and friends after decades of collaboration.
The audience included several well-known figures from across film, television and music, including Pedro Pascal, Paris Jackson, Tyler, the Creator, Max Greenfield, Sarah Sherman, Jon Watts, Johnny Bananas and Inde Navarrette.
According to attendees, the screening prompted the mix of laughter, shock and disbelief that has long defined the Jackass experience, with viewers reacting audibly to the film’s stunts throughout the presentation.
Afterparty Stayed True to the Franchise’s Reputation
Following the screening, guests moved to an afterparty that paired upscale catering with the offbeat humor synonymous with Jackass. Alongside traditional food and drinks were novelty menu items and humorous installations designed to reflect the franchise’s irreverent style.
Members of the cast, including Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña and Ehren “Danger” McGhehey, gathered outdoors for one of the night’s highlights—an 11-minute drone light show celebrating memorable moments from the series. The aerial display recreated several recognizable visual gags and symbols associated with Jackass, drawing enthusiastic reactions from the crowd.
